"SCORZANERA"
In early 900’s, among people, especially farmers, people used to nickname the estate owner with a particular name in order to identify him easily and unequivocally. For this reason the grandfather Saverio was called “Scorzanera”as watermelons maker, which were characterized by a typical dark skin, as wells as excellent wine grapes maker. After the grandfather Saverio, it was his son Giuseppe to continue this activity with the same devotion and to hand down to his sons Saverio and Antonio the passion for wine growing.
Although involved in different sectors of farming, they have never forgotten their own origin: they invested best financial and human resources not to waste the precious experiences heritage achieved over the years by family. As time goes by, these young farmers transformed, little by little, the grapes production from quantitative (for cooperatives) to qualitative to produce a high quality wine.
Thus “Scorzanera” was born in order to honor a commitment that dad Giuseppe always pursues busyness all days, overseeing and verifying the processes from grape-wine farming to the production of this rich wine.
Wines are produced thanks to Negroamaro and Malvasia wines farmed in Giancola and Lobia estates and recently also in Campo D’Oro estate, through organic treatments and the harvesting made with the more traditional means and methods.
Manufacturing processes increased so as to obtain “Scorzanera” through hard work especially thanks to Antonio who, in addition to his experience developed since tender age, combined knowledge, methods and study getting 3rd degree AIS of wine waiter.
